Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the romantic drama Reminders of Him directed by Vanessa Caswill and starring Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Bradley Whitford, Lainey Wilson and Lauren Graham. The film’s original score is composed by Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Knuckles, Dog Man, Daisy Jones & the Six, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Early Man, Book Club: The New Chapter). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song by Noah Cyrus and another song by Morgan Harper-Jones today. Also opening wide is the Canadian horror feature Undertone written and directed by Ian Tuason and starring Nina Kiri, Adam DiMarco, Michèle Duquet, Jeff Yung and Keana Lyn Bastidas. Shanika Lewis-Waddell has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows the host of a popular paranormal podcast who becomes haunted by terrifying recordings mysteriously sent her way, premiered at last year’s Fantasia International Film Festival and is being distributed by A24.
Opening semi-wide in around 600 theaters is the body horror comedy/satire Slanted written and directed by Amy Wang and starring Shirley Chen, McKenna Grace, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan,Vivian Wu, Fang Du, Elaine Hendrix, Amelie Zilber and Keith Harris. The film’s original music is composed by Shirley Song (XO, Kitty, The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star, A Tourist’s Guide to Love, Exploding Kittens, BE@RBRICK). New Fox Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today.
