Matthew Compton (Into the Deep, The Last Stop in Yuma County, Better Start Running) has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy thriller Over Your Dead Body. The film is directed by Jorma Taccone (Alone Together, PEN15) and stars Samara Weaving, Jason Segel, Timothy Olyphant, Paul Guilfoyle, Keith Jardine and Juliette Lewis. The movie is based on Tommy Wirkola’s 2021 Norwegian feature The Trip (I onde dager) and revolves around a dysfunctional married couple who retreats to a secluded cabin to repair their relationship, but each secretly plots to murder the other. Nick Kocher & Brian McElhaney wrote the screenplay. David Leitch & Kelly McCormack (Bullet Train, The Fall Guy) are producing the 87North & XYZ Films production with Guy Danella (Violent Night, Love Hurts), Aram Tertzakian (The Raid 2, Havoc), Nick Spicer (Stowaway, I Kill Giants) and Lee Kim (Our House, Dual). Compton has previously scored the Taccone-directed features MacGruber (and the TV series of the same title) & Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and -produced comedy Palm Springs. Over Your Dead Body will be released in theaters nationwide on April 24, 2026 by the Independent Film Company.
