The Hollywood Bowl has announced this summer’s season schedule, which includes a number of film music concerts. On July 10, 11 & 12, the Bowl will host Music from the Films of Wes Anderson, a concert featuring Thomas Wilkins conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a celebration of the music from the Academy Award-winning director (click here for more information). On July 21, 22 & 23, the Bowl’s 2026 Composer in Focus Joe Hisaishi will conduct the LA Phil for an evening of his compositions from Studio Ghibli movies and other projects, accompanied by some of his favorite film clips (visit the Bowl’s website for more information). On August 9, How to Train Your Dragon in Concert will make its Bowl debut with the live-to-picture performance of John Powell’s Academy Award-nominated score for the DreamWorks Animation production (click here for more details). On August 15, Lorne Balfe will conduct the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for Top Gun: Maverick in Concert featuring Harold Faltermeyer’s, Lady Gaga’s,Hans Zimmer and Balfe’s score performed live while the film plays in full on screen (visit the Bowl’s website for more details). On September 3, the Bowl will host Amadeus in Concert featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic (conducted by Norman Huynh) performing the score of celebrated Mozart works live as Miloš Forman’s Academy Award-winning film plays on screen (click here for more information). On September 4, 5 & 6, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conductor David Newman will once again salute one of Hollywood’s living legends with three performances of Maestro of the Movies: A Tribute to John Williams, featuring some of Williams’ biggest hits and other classics of the silver screen (visit the Bowl’s website for more details).
