Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, The Wonder, Gloria Bell, The Responder, The Beast Must Die, The Cave, Hot Milk, Temple) has composed the original score for the upcoming satirical thriller Rosebush Pruning. The film is directed by Karim Aïnouz (Firebrand, Invisible Life) and stars Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Tracy Letts, Elena Anaya, Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson. The movie takes place in an opulent villa beneath the Catalonian sun, and follows four American siblings as they wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune, eschewing the demands of their blind father, and seeking love and validation through each other and their latest designer clothes. Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) wrote the screenplay. Michael Weber & Viola Fügen (Martin Eden, Jupiter’s Moon), Simone Gattoni (Kidnapped, Mussolini: Son of the Century), Annamaria Morelli (Amanda, Nottotempo), Andreas Wentz (My Penguin Friend) and Vladimir Zemtsov are producing the project. Rosebush Pruning will premiere this week at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival.
Herbert’s Sebastián Lelio’s The Wave, which opened in Chilean theaters last summer following a premiere at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is currently awaiting a domestic release.
