UMe has announced a new soundtrack release for the 1986 teen comedy drama classic Pretty in Pink directed by Howard Deutch, written by John Hughes and starring Molly Ringwald, Harry Dean Stanton, Jon Cryer, James Spader, Annie Potts and Andrew McCarthy. The 40th Anniversary Edition reissue features the songs from the movie, including The Psychedelic Furs’ Top 5 title track, OMD’s If You Leave, Echo & The Bunnymen’s Bring on the Dancing Horses, The Smiths’ Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want and INXS’ Do Wot You Do. The soundtrack will be released as a limited-edition ‘Pretty in Baby Pink’ 1LP, housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring film photography and featuring two bonus tracks previously unavailable on the soundtrack: Otis Redding’s Try a Little Tenderness and Talk Back’s Rudy (click here to order), and as a standard-weight black 1LP featuring the original tracklist (visit Amazon to pre-order) on March 13. A&M Records has previously released the original 1986 soundtrack album. Pretty in Pink is now available on VOD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray & DVD and will return to theaters on February 14.
