Antoni Komasa-Łazarkiewicz (Copying Beethoven, Quo Vadis, Aida?, Rosemary’s Baby, In Darkness, In the Rearview) and Mary Komasa (Treasure, Cracow Monsters, Charlatan) have teamed up to score the upcoming Polish Netflix limited series Lead Children (Olowiane dzieci). The show is directed by Maciej Pieprzyca (I’m a Killer, Life Feels Good) and stars Joanna Kulig, Kinga Preis, Michał Żurawski, Agata Kulesza, Kinga Preis, Marian Dziędziel and Sebastian Pawlak. The drama is inspired by true events from the 1970s that took place in Silesia and tells the story of a young doctor who discovers that children living near a smelting plant suffer from lead poisoning and risks her career and safety to save them. The 6-parter is written and Jakub Korolczuk and produced by Wiesław Łysakowski. Lead Children will premiere on February 11 exclusively on Netflix.
The composers’ other recent projects include Agnieszka Holland’s biographical drama Franz (starring Idan Weiss as Franz Kafka), which premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and has been picked up by Cohen Media Group for a domestic release this year.
