Högni Egilsson (Under the Tree, Against the Current) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film Apex. The movie is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Everest) and stars Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton and Eric Bana. The thriller follows a woman testing her limits in the Australian wilderness who is suddenly ensnared in a deadly game with a ruthless predator. Jeremy Robbins wrote the screenplay. Kormákur is also producing the project for RVK Studios, alongside Theron, Beth Kono & A.J. Dix (The Old Guard, Bombshell) for Secret Menu, Peter Chernin (Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Hidden Figures), Jenno Topping (Ford v Ferrari, The Greatest Showman) & David Ready (Red Sparrow, Fear Street) for Chernin Entertainment, as well as Ian Bryce (Spider-Man, Saving Private Ryan) for Ian Bryce Productions. Egilsson has previously collaborated with Kormákur on the director’s last feature, Touch, and this year’s BBC drama King & Conqueror. Apex will premiere on April 24, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
