The details of the soundtrack album for the German event series Black Gold (Schwarzes Gold) have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Dune, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Aleksey Igudesman. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 19 by Sony Classical. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. The label has previously released the original song In Oil We Trust written by Zimmer & Igudesman and performed by Ekaterina Shehelova earlier this month. Black Gold is created by Justin Koch & Matthias Greving and stars Harriet Herbig-Matten, Aaron Hilmer, Gwendoline Christie, Tom Wlaschiha, Marton Csokas, Merlin Sandmeyer, Henny Reents, Lena Urzendowsky, Jessica Schwarz, Slavko Popadić and Liliom Lewald. The 6-part drama is set at the turn of the 20th Century during the oil boom in the Lüneburg Heath and revolves around a farmer’s daughter whose family is cheated by a rich landowner over the oil discovered under their fields and threatens to destroy her farming community forever. The series will premiere this holiday season on German television.
