The details of the soundtrack album for BBC’s Doctor Who spin-off series The War Between the Land and the Sea have been announced. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead ReckoningTop Gun: MaverickBlack Adam, Black WidowHis Dark Materials, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, The Wheel of Time). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, December 5 by Silva Screen Records (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). An additional track, Alison Goldfrapp’s & Balfe’s cover of David Bowie’s Heroes, will be released the following Friday, December 12. A physical version will be coming out next year. As previously reported, a first track (Barlcay’s Theme) is already available to stream/download now. The War Between the Land and the Sea is created by Russell T Davies and stars Russell Tovey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jemma Redgrave, Colin McFarlane, Ruth Madeley and Alexander Devrient. The 5-parter follows the UNIT team as they fight for control as humanity faces destruction when a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean. The series will premiere in the UK on Sunday, December 7 on BBC One and will debut in the U.S. in early 2026 on Disney+.
