Universal Music Group’s Calderstone Productions & Lenono Music will release a soundtrack for the animated short War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko co-written (with Sean Ono Lennon) and directed by Dave Mullins. The 3-track single features the Sean Ono Lennon-produced Ultimate Mixes of John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s iconic holiday song Happy Xmas (War Is Over) and Yoko Ono’s Listen, The Snow Is Falling mixed and engineered by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon, as well as the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman (American Beauty, 1917, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, Road to Perdition, Bridge of Spies). The soundtrack will be released digitally and as a 12” Zoetrope picture disc on December 5. Visit Amazon to pre-order the digital version. War Is Over! is set in an alternate WWI reality where a senseless war rages on and two soldiers on opposite sides of the conflict play a game of chess. The film, which won the Academy Award in the Animated Short category last year, will premiere on December 1 on YouTube.
