David Fleming (Superman, The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Damsel, The Alto Knights, Jim Henson: Idea Man, Americana) has been tapped to score the upcoming horror comedy Anaconda. The film is directed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, That Awkward Moment) and stars Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior and Selton Mello. The movie follows two best friends who head deep into the Amazon to start filming their dream project by remaking their all-time favorite movie: 1997’s Anaconda (scored by Randy Edelman), but things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears. Gormican also co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Workaholics). They are also producing the project with Fully Formed Entertainment’s Brad Fuller & Andrew Form (A Quiet Place, The Purge, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Anaconda will be released in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2025 by Sony Pictures.
Fleming is also expected to return to co-score the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us and the second season of Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
