Zhao & O’Farrell also co-wrote the screenplay. Liza Marshall (Before I Go to Sleep, Mary & George) is producing the project for Hera Pictures, alongside Pippa Harris (1917, Penny Dreadful) & Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall)., Nicolas Gonda (To the Wonder, Voyage of Time) for Neal Street Productions and Steven Spielberg (Jaws, Jurassic Park) for Amblin Entertainment. A soundtrack album featuring Richter’s music will be released by Decca Records. The composer’s score also incorporates his piece On the Nature of Daylight, which has previously been used in such features as Arrival & Shutter Island. Hamnet is expected to premiere this coming weekend at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on November 27 by Focus Features before expanding nationwide on December 12.
