Christopher Bear (of the rock band Grizzly Bear) (Past LivesMother, Couch, High Maintenance, Adults, SwallowedThe Passenger) has been been tapped to score the upcoming crime comedy drama Roofman. The film is directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines) and stars Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, Juno Temple, LaKeith Stanfield, Melonie Diaz, Lily Collias, Uzo Aduba, Jimmy O. Yang and Peter Dinklage. The movie follows an Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs and whose double life begins to unravel when he falls fora divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm. Cianfrance also co-wrote the screenplay with Kirt Gunn. Jamie Patricof (Captain Fantastic, Half Nelson), Lynette Howell Taylor (A Star Is Born, The Accountant), Alex Orlovsky (His Three Daughters, I Origins), Duncan Montgomery (Lurker, Windfall) and Dylan Sellers (Palm Springs, Passenger 57) are producing the project. Roofman will be released in theaters nationwide on October 10, 2025 by Paramount Pictures.

As previously reported, Bear’s other recent projects include Cole Webley’s Omaha, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released by Greenwich Entertainment later this year, as well as Matthew Shear’s Fantasy Life, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and has also been been picked up Greenwich Entertainment for domestic distribution.
