Singer/songwriter Charles Watson (of the indie pop/rock duo Slow Club) (Youngstown) and Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Lisa Frankenstein, Little Fires Everywhere, My Oxford Year, KAOS, The Offer, Physical, Lady Chatterley’s Lover) are reuniting with director Pete Ohs on the upcoming indie drama Erupcja. The film is directed by Ohs (Jethica) and stars Lena Góra, Charli xcx, Will Madden, Agata Trzebuchowska and Jeremy O. Harris . The movie explores the combustible chemistry between two women, a Polish florist and a British tourist. Ohs, Charli xcx, Góra, Madden & Harris also wrote the screenplay. Ohs, Charli xcx & Harris are also producing the project with Luke Arreguin and Josh Godfrey (Caddo Lake, The True Adventures of Wolfboy). Watson has previously collaborated with Ohs on 2024’s Love and Work, while Summers has scored the director’s The True Beauty of Being Bitten by a Tick, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date. Erupcja will premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Summers’ other recent projects include Bryan Fuller’s Dust Bunny, which is also premiering at TIFF. She also has Ben Gregor’s The Magic Faraway Tree and Megan Nicole Dong’s animated movie Bad Fairies coming up.
