Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Lisa Frankenstein, KAOS, Physical, The Offer) has recently scored the upcoming comedy drama The True Beauty of Being Bitten by a Tick. The film is directed by Pete Ohs (Jethica, Everything Beautiful Is Far Away) and stars Zoë Chao, Callie Hernandez, James Cusati-Moyer and Jeremy O. Harris. The movie follows a young woman who drives down to a friend’s bucolic new home for some time away after a tragic accident and begins developing troubling symptoms from a tick bite.
Ohs also co-wrote the screenplay with all main cast members. He is also producing the project with Hernandez, Harris and Josh Godfrey (Caddo Lake, The True Adventures of Wolfboy). The True Beauty of Being Bitten by a Tick will premiere this coming weekend at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival.
Also coming up for Summers is Ben Gregor’s The Magic Faraway Tree and Megan Nicole Dong’s animated feature Bad Fairies.
