Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, The Night Of, Ripley, Zero Day, The Umbrella Academy, Legion, For All Mankind) is the composer of the upcoming British Netflix limited series Hostage. The show is created by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies, Suite Francaise) and stars Suranne Jones, Julie Delpy, Corey Mylchreest, Martin McCann, Ashley Thomas, Mark Lewis Jones, Isobel Akuwudike, Jehnny Beth, Hiftu Quasem and Sophie Robertson. The 5-part thriller follows the British Prime Minister who is forced to choose between her country and her family when her husband is kidnapped and the French president who is also facing an unimaginable choice when she starts receiving threats . Charman & Jones are also executive producing the project with Foz Allen (Treason, Robin Hood) and Steve Searle (Supacaell). Hostage will premiere on August 21 exclusively on Netflix.
Russo’s other recent projects include FX’s Alien: Earth, which will premiere on August 12, Netflix’s Untamed, which just premiered last week and Prime Video’s Ballard, which also premiered earlier this month. He also has Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy coming up.
