Composer Cho Young-wuk is reteaming with director Park Chan-wook on the upcoming South Korean comedy thriller No Other Choice. The film is based on the novel The Ax by Donald Westlake and stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Yejin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Cha Seung-won and Yoo Yeon-seok. The movie follows a man who is abruptly laid off by the paper company where he worked tirelessly for many years and grows increasingly desperate in his hunt for new work. Chan-wook is also producing the Moho Film production with Back Jisun for Moho Film, as well as Michèle Ray Gavras (Adults in the Room) and Alexandre Gavras (Custody) for KG Productions. Young-wuk has previously scored most of the director’s previous features, including Oldboy, The Handmaiden, Decision to Leave, Lady Vengeance, Thirst, as well as the limited series The Little Drummer Girl & The Sympathizer. No Other Choice is expected to premiere at one of the major film festivals this fall and has been picked up by Neon for domestic distribution.
