Mark Korven (The WitchThe Black Phone, The Lighthouse, The First OmenResident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon CityCubeThe Peripheral) is the composer of the new MGM+ original series The Institute. The show is developed by Benjamin Cavell (SEAL Team, The Stand) based on Stephen King’s novel of the same title and stars Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Barnes, Joe Freeman, Fionn Laird, Simone Miller, Hannah Galway, Robert Joy, Julian Richings and Martin Roach. The mystery thriller tells the story of a teen genius who is abducted by The Institute, a secret organization that takes kids with psychic powers for use in a mysterious project run by a sadistic true believer. The Lumineers have provided the main titles theme song, entitled Shout. Cavell & King are also executive producing the project with lead director Jack Bender (Lost, Under the Dome), Gary Barber (Bruce Almighty, Reign of Fire), Sam Sheridan (I Am the Night, Homestead) and Ed Redlich (Unforgettable, East New York). Korven has previously scored the Stephen King adaptation Chapelwaite for Epix/MGM+. The Institute will premiere this coming Sunday, July 13 on MGM+.
