Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Miracle, Once Upon a Time, 42, Blade, The Accountant, Nell, The Black Dahlia) has recently been scoring the upcoming drama Soul on Fire. The film is directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, Reagan) and stars Joel Courtney, John Corbett, Stephanie Szostak, DeVon Franklin, Masey McLain and William H. Macy. The movie is inspired by the true story and 2016 bestselling book On Fire by John O’Leary whose story begins with his miraculous recovery from a near death accident at age 9 and – given no chance of survival – endures a road to recovery with the support of his family, faith, community and the kindness of his all-time idol, Baseball Hall of Fame Announcer Jack Buck. Gregory Poirier (Rosewood, Gossip) wrote the screenplay. McNamara is also producing the project with J. Todd Harris (Dudley Do-Right, Lilly), Margaret French Isaac (The Sky Is Everywhere) and David Brookwell (Soul Surfer, The King’s Daughter). Soul on Fire will be released in theaters nationwide on October 10, 2025 by Sony Pictures’ AFFIRM Films.
Isham also continues to score MGM+’s Godfather of Harlem, which just finished its fourth season run last week.
