Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Civil War, Devs, Luce, Men, Archive 81, Hanna, Free Fire) have composed the original music for the upcoming Irish/British Netflix original film Steve. The movie is directed by Tim Mielants (Small Things Like These, Will) and stars Cillian Murphy, Jay Lycurgo, Tracey Ullman, Simbi Ajikawo and Emily Watson. The reimagining of Max Porter’s bestselling novel Shy is set in the mid-90s and follows a pivotal day in the life of a headteacher and his students at a last-chance reform school amidst a world that has forsaken them. Porter also wrote the screenplay. Murphy is also producing the project with Alan Moloney (Albert Nobbs, Byzantium). Steve will be released in select theaters in late September before premiering on October 3 on Netflix
