The Newton Brothers (Daredevil: Born AgainX-Men ’97, Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, The Forever Purge, The Fall of the House of Usher) have provided the original score for the upcoming Netflix original film Fear Street: Prom Queen. The fourth movie based on R.L. Stine’s horror book series is directed by Matt Palmer (Calibre) and stars India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, Ella Rubin, David Iacono, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston. The slasher film takes place during 1988 prom season at Shadyside High and follows a guvsy outsider who puts herself in the running, when the other contending girls start mysteriously disappearing.Palmer also co-wrote the screenplay with Donald Mcleary. Peter Chernin & Jenno Topping (The Greatest Showman, Hidden Figures) and Kori Adelson are producing the project for Chernin Entertainment. Marco Beltrami, Anna Drubich, Brandon Roberts & Marcus Trumpp have previously scored the original Fear Street trilogy, which premiered in 2021. Fear Street: Prom Queen will debut on May 23, 2025 exclusively on Netflix.

In addition to the second seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again & X-Men ’97, the composers also have Emma Tammi’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (to be released in theaters on December 5, 2025) coming up. They also recently scored Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck, which will be released in theaters on May 30 by Neon following its world premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival.
