Apple TV+ announced this week that Leland (aka Brett McLaughlin) has written the original songs for the streamer’s upcoming animated musical special Lulu Is a Rhinoceros. The special, which is scored by Jina Hyojin An & Shirley Song (XO, Kitty, Exploding Kittens, BE@RBRICK, The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star, A Tourist’s Guide to Love), is developed by Jason & Allison Flom based on their children’s book of the same name and features the voices of Auliʻi Cravalho, Alex Newell, Dulé Hill, Paul Rust and Utkarsh Ambudkar. The Propagate Content & Bento Box Animation production directed by Angela Stempel follows the titular rhinoceros on a quest to spread kindness who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. Jason & Allison Flom are also executive producing the project with Brett Coker, Scott Greenberg & Dana Tafoya-Cameron (Hazbin Hotel, Koala Man), as well as Ben Silverman (The Office), Howard T. Owens (Untold, The GOAT) and Rodney Ferrell. Lulu Is a Rhinoceros will premiere on May 30, 2025 exclusively on Apple TV+.
