David Fleming (The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Damsel, Hillbilly Elegy, Jim Henson: Idea Man, The Unforgivable, Blue Planet II, The Night Logan Woke Up) is contributing music to James Gunn’s upcoming superhero movie Superman. He is sharing scoring credit with the project’s previously announced composer John Murphy whose theme (based on John Williams’ music) as featured in the teaser trailer has been released as digital single last Decenber. The film is written and directed by Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, he Suicide Squad) and stars David Corenswet in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, as well as Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Sara Sampaio, Skyler Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, María Gabriela de Faría, Alan Tudyk and Pruitt Taylor Vince. Gunn is also producing the DC Studios production with Peter Safran (Aquaman, Shazam!). Superman will be released in theaters nationwide on July 11 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Fleming’s recent projects also include the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us (scored with Gustavo Santaolalla), which just premiered last Sunday, as well as David Freyne’s Eternity, which is expected to premiere later this year.
