Fall Out Boy lead singer Patrick Stump (Gnome Alone, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Merry Little Batman, Black Friday) is composing the original score for the upcoming documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The film is directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Polar, Lords of Chaos) and centers on the titular punk legend turned pop sensation. The movie reveals his rise to fame, battle with addiction and triumphant comeback that captivated millions of fans worldwide. Åkerlund is also producing the project with Mark Monroe (Jim Henson: Idea Man, Lucy and Desi), Laurence Freedman, Violaine Etienne (Corazon), Orian Williams (Control, Sam & Kate), Ryan Kroft (Love, Lizzo), Jessica James Batista and China Chow. Billy Idol Should Be Dead will premiere this June at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
Stump also continues to score Marvel’s Disney Jr. animated series Spidey and His Amazing Friends, which has recently been renewed for a fifth season.
