Martin Phipps (The CrownNapoleon, Woman in Gold, War & Peace, Victoria, The Honourable Woman, The Aftermath, Peaky Blinders) and Dan Jeffries have composed the original music for the upcoming British Disney+ limited series Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes. The show is written by Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan and Ollie) and stars Conleth Hill, Max Beesley, Emily Mortimer, Russell Tovey, Daniel Mays, Laura Aikman, Alex Jennings and Edison Alcaide. The 4-part drama directed by Paul Andrew Williams (Bull, Unfinished Song) focuses on the events surrounding the tragic killing of innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes after he is mistaken for a terrorist and – told from multiple perspectives of those involved – examines how memory can be turned into fact and shape our understanding of the truth. Pope & Williams are also executive producing the project for Etta Pictures, alongside Kwadjo Dajan for KDJ Productions and Lee Mason (A Thousand Blows, Rivals). Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes will premiere in the UK and Ireland on April 30 exclusively on Disney+.

Phipps is also expected to return to score the second season of Netflix’s Black Doves.
