Amie Doherty (She-Hulk: Attorney at LawUndonePlease Don’t DestroySpirit Untamed, Happiest Season) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Freakier Friday. The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra (Late Night, Cake) and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Rosalind Chao, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Vanessa Bayer, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. The sequel to 2003’s hit movie Freaky Friday (scored by Rolfe Kent) takes place years after Tess & Anna endured an identity crisis as they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge and discover that lightning might indeed strike twice. Curtis is also producing the project with Kristin Burr (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Christopher Robin) and Andrew Gunn (Cruella, Sky High). Doherty has previously collaborated with Ganatra on the 2020 feature The High Note. Freakier Friday will be released in theaters nationwide on August 8 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Doherty is also expected to return to score the second season of Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai.
