Camilo Lara (aka Mexican Institute of Sound) (A Million Miles Away, La Liberación, Going Varsity in Mariachi) has composed original music for the upcoming Disney+ original movie Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip. The film is directed by Marvin Lemus and stars Eva Longoria, Jesse Garcia, Paulina Chávez, Cristo Fernández, Rose Portillo, Harvey Guillén, Michelle Buteau, Mabel Cadena, Thom Nemer and Cheech Marin. The family comedy follows the 11-year-old title character and his family as they embark on a dream Spring Break vacation to Mexico City only to have all their plans go terribly wrong when they discover a cursed idol. Matt Lopez (Race to Witch Mountain, Bedtime Stories) wrote screenplay based on Judith Viorst’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which has previously been adapted into a theatrical feature from Disney (scored by Christophe Beck). 21 Laps Entertainment’s Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Real Steel), Dan Levine (Arrival, Why Him?) & Dan Cohen (Stranger Things, Shadow and Bone) and with the Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson (Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance). Lara has previously collaborated with Lemus on the Netflix series Gentefied. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip will premiere on March 28 exclusively on Disney+.
