Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Steve McQueen’s historical drama Blitz. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, Dune, The Dark Knight, Inception, 12 Years a Slave). Also included are the movie’s original songs written by Academy Award nominees Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Succession, Andor, The Big Short) & Taura Stinson and McQueen, as well as Britell’s new arrangements of Oh Johnny, Oh Johnny, Oh performed by Celeste and Allelujah (Hallelujah) performed by Benjamin Clementine. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 1. Check back on this page for the streaming/download link. Blitz is written and directed by McQueen and stars Saoirse Ronan, Elliott Heffernan, Harris Dickinson, Clementine, Kathy Burke, Paul Weller, Stephen Graham, Alex Jennings, Leigh Gill, Mica Ricketts, CJ Beckford, Hayley Squires, Joshua McGuire, Erin Kellyman and Sally Messham. The movie tells the story of a nine-year-old boy in World War II London who is determined to return home after being sent to safety in the English countryside and finds himself in immense peril, while his distraught mother searches for her missing son. The drama, which premiered at this year’s BFI Film Festival, will open in select theaters on November 1 before making its streaming debut on November 22 on Apple TV+.
