Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for Pedro Almodóvar’s English language feature debut The Room Next Door. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Volver, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, The Skin I Live In, Parallel Mothers, Exodus: Gods and Kings). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 18. A CD version is also expected. The Room Next Door is written and directed by Almodóvar and stars Tilda Swinton, Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Alessandro Nivola, Raúl Arévalo, Juan Diego Botto, Victoria Luengo and Alex Hogh Andersen. The movie follow two close friends who once worked together and were separated by the circumstances of life, when – after years of being out of touch – they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is opening in Spanish theaters this weekend and will be released in select U.S. theaters on December 20 by Sony Pictures Classics.
