Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese/American drama Happyend. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lia Ouyang Rusli (Problemista, Fantasmas, Test Pattern, Bruiser). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s main theme after the jump. Happyend is written and directed by Neo Sora and stars Hayato Kurihara, Yukito Hidaka, Yuta Hayashi, ARAZI, Shina Peng, Kilala Inori, PUSHIM, Makiko Watanabe and Ayumu Nakajima. The movie follows two high school friends in Tokyo who must reevaluate their friendship after pulling a consequential prank and – coupled with the daily threat of a catastrophic earthquake – are forced to reckon with their opposing visions of the future. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is opening in Japanese theaters this weekend and has recently been picked up by Metrograph Pictures for a domestic release in 2025.
