Fabio Massimo Capogrosso (Kidnapped: The Abduction of Edgardo Mortara, Exterior Night) is attached to score the upcoming Italian period drama Primavera. The film marks the feature directorial debut of opera director Damiano Michieletto and stars Tecla Insolia and Michele Riondino. The movie loosely based on Tiziano Scarpa’s novel Stabat Mater is set in 18th Century Venice and follows a 20-year-old violin virtuoso whose life takes a turn after she meets Antonio Vivaldi, a brilliant and ambitious composer who becomes her new violin teacher. Ludovica Rampoldi (The Traitor, Gomorrah: The Series) wrote the screenplay. The project is produced by Indigo Film. Primavera just started shooting in Rome and Venice and is expected to premiere in 2025. (Variety)
Capogrosso has also recently scored Francesca Comencini’s The Time It Takes, which just opened in Italian theaters.
