Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, The Witcher, Straight Outta Compton, The Greatest Showman, The Raid: Redemption, Project Power) is the composer of the new NBC drama Brilliant Minds. The show is created by Michael Grassi (Riverdale, Katy Keene) and stars Zachary Quinto, Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Aury Krebs, Alex MacNicoll, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears and Donna Murphy. The medical drama is inspired by the life and work of author and physician Oliver Sacks and follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. Grassi is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television production with Greg Berlanti (Love, Simon, Fly Me to the Moon), Sarah Schechter (You, The Flash), Leigh London Redman (Dead Boy Detectives), DeMane Davis (Found), Melissa Aouate (Interrogation), Henrik Bastin (Bosch), Jonathan Cavendish & Andy Serkis (Breathe, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle) and Shefali Malhoutra, as well as Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline, Celeste and Jesse Forever) who is also directing. Trapanese has previously scored the Krieger-produced Netflix series Shadow and Bone. Brilliant Minds will premiere this coming Monday, September 23 on NBC.
Trapanese also continues to score NBC’s The Witcher, which will return for its fourth season next year and also has Drew Kirsch’s feature He Bled Neon (co-scored with Zhu) coming up.
