Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film Uglies. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Edward Shearmur (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Escape from Dannemora, Charlie’s Angels, Johnny English, The Count of Monte Cristo, Cruel Intentions, Reign of Fire). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 6 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Uglies is directed by McG and stars Joey King, Keith Powers, Brianne Tju, Chase Stokes, Charmin Lee, Jan Luis and Laverne Cox. The sci-fi thriller based on Scott Westerfeld’s novel of the same title is set in a futuristic dystopia with enforced beauty standards and centers on a teenager awaiting mandatory cosmetic surgery who embarks on a journey to find her missing friend. The film will premiere next Friday, September 13 exclusively on Netflix.
