Steven Price (Gravity, Last Night in Soho, Suicide Squad, Fury, Our Planet, The World’s End, Baby Driver) has recently scored the upcoming British Netflix original film Joy. The movie is directed by Ben Taylor (Sex Education, Renegade Nell) and stars Thomasin McKenzie, James Norton and Bill Nighy. The period drama tells the true story behind the ground-breaking birth of Louise Joy Brown in 1978, the world’s first ‘test-tube-baby’, and the tireless 10-year journey to make it possible. Jack Thorne (Wonder, Enola Holmes) wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Rachel Mason. Finola Dwyer (An Education, Their Finest) and Amanda Posey (Brooklyn, Fever Pitch) are producing the project for Wildgaze Films. Joy is set to premiere in October at this year’s BFI London Film Festival and will debut on November 22 on Netflix.
As previously reported, Price also has Nick Hamm’s William Tell (premiering next month at the Toronto International Film Festival) coming up.
