Composer/record producer Tony Doogan is reuniting with director David Mackenzie on the upcoming thriller Relay. The film is directed by David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water, Perfect Sense) and stars Riz Ahmed, Lily James, Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald. The movie follows a middleman who specializes in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin, when he meets a new client who seeks his protection to stay alive. Justin Piasecki wrote the screenplay. Mackenzie is also producing the project with Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk, Sigma Films’ Gillian Berrie (Tetris, Under the Banner of Heaven) and Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, All Is Lost). Doogan has previously co-scored Mackenzie’s 2013 feature Starred Up and 2018’s Outlaw Kings as part of Grey Dogs. Relay will premiere next month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
