Devonté Hynes(aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Master Gardener, Palo Alto, Passing, Mainstream) is the composer of the upcoming BBC drama The Listeners. The show is written by Jordan Tannahill based on his novel of the same title and stars Rebecca Hall, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Gayle Rankin, Mia Tharia, Amr Waked, Ollie West, Franc Ashman, Karen Henthorn, Samuel Edward-Cook, Lucy Sheen and Ian Mercer. The series directed by Janicza Bravo (Zola) revolves around a popular English teacher who begins to hear a low humming sound that no one else around her can hear and strikes up an unlikely and intimate friendship with a student of hers who can also hear the sound. Ed Guiney & Andrew Lowe (Poor Things, Normal People), Chelsea Morgan Hoffmann (September Says) and Rachel Dargavel (Only You, The Gallows Pole) are executive producing the Element Pictures production. The Listeners will premiere in the UK this fall on BBC One and on the BBCiPlayer.
