Alberto Iglesias (The Constant Gardener, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Kite Runner, Exodus: Gods and Kings) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming drama The Room Next Door. The film marks the English language feature debut of writer/director Pedro Almodóvar and stars Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton, John Turturro, Alessandro Nivola, Raúl Arévalo, Juan Diego Botto, Victoria Luengo and Melina Mathews. The movie explores the relationship between two women, a flawed mother working as a war reporter who is separated from her daughter, and an auto-fictional novelist who is the keeper of their pain and bitterness. Agustín Almodóvar is producing the El Deseo production. Iglesias has previously scored all of the director’s features over the last three decades, including such titles as Volver, The Skin I Live In, Parallel Mothers, Pain & Glory, Talk to Her and All About My Mother. The Room Next Door is expected to premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival and will be distributed in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics.
