Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Baby Reindeer, Scenes from a Marriage, Radioactive, Loveless, Wizard of LiesThe Family) have composed the original music for the upcoming French erotic drama Emmanuelle. The film is directed by Audrey Diwan (Losing It) and stars Noémie Merlant, Will Sharpe, Jamie Campbell Bower, Chacha Huang, Anthony Wong and Naomi Watts. The movie is inspired by the novel and character of the same name created by Emmanuelle Arsan and follows the steps of a woman in search of a lost pleasure who encounters numerous people on a business trip to Hong Kong, including a man who constantly eludes her. Diwan also co-wrote the screenplay with Rebecca Zlotowski (Other People’s Children, Planetarium). Reginald de Guillebon (The Swallows of Kabul), Marion Delord (Eloïse’s Journey), Edouard Weil & Brahim Chioua (Climax, Love), Vincent Maraval (Blue Is the Warmest Color, Only God Forgives), Livia Van Der Staay and Laurence Clerc (High Life, Bastards) are producing the Chantelouve, Rectangle and Goodfellas production. The composers have previously scored Diwan’s last feature, Happening. Emmanuelle will premiere at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival before opening in French theaters on September 25, 2024. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.

The Galperines’ other recent projects include the Disney+/Hulu limited Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, which just premiered last month.
