Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, Smallfoot, The Legend of Tarzan, Over the Hedge, Hotel Rwanda) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original film The Union. The movie is directed by Julian Farino (The Oranges, Ballers) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Halle Berry, Mike Colter, Jessica De Gouw, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jackie Earle Haley, Alice Lee and J.K. Simmons. The action comedy follows a construction worker from Jersey who gets thrust into the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school sweetheart suddenly comes back into his life and recruits him on a high-stakes U.S. intelligence mission. Joe Barton (Giri/Haji, Encounter) and David Guggenheim (Safe House, Designated Survivor) wrote the screenplay. Wahlberg is also producing the project with Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Deepwater Horizon) and Jeff Waxman (Concrete Cowboy, Echo Boomers). The Union will premiere on August 16, 2024 exclusively on Netflix.
Gregson-Williams’ other recent feature projects include Max Barbakow’s Brothers, which has recently been picked up Amazon MGM Studios for a streaming debut on October 17 on Prime Video. He also continues to co-score HBO’s The Gilded Age (with Harry Gregson-Williams), which has been renewed for a third season.
