Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Enemy, The Outsider, Fear the Walking Dead, The White Tiger, Boy Erased, The Staircase, Tokyo Vice) have provided the original score for the upcoming horror movie The Exorcism. The film is directed by Joshua John Miller (Queen of the South, The Final Girls) and stars Russell Crowe, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, David Hyde Pierce and Adam Goldberg. The Miramax and Outerbanks Entertainment production revolves around a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film, which leads her estranged daughter to wonder if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play. Miller also co-wrote the screenplay with M.A. Fortin. Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek), Ben Fast (Sick) and Bill Block (Halloween, The Holdovers) are producing the project. The Exorcism will be released in theaters nationwide on June 7, 2024 by Vertical.
The composers’ other recent/upcoming feature projects include James Watkins’ Speak No Evil remake, which will be released in theaters on September 13, as well as Kyle Mooney’s Y2K and Brian Crano’s & David Craig’s I Don’t Understand You, which both premiered last month at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival.
