Andrea Farri (Io Capitano, The Hanging Sun, Security, The First King, Latin Lover, Italian Race) has been tapped to score the upcoming Peacock original series Those About to Die. The show based on Daniel P. Mannix’s nonfiction book of the same title is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Stargate) & Marco Kreuzpaintner (The Collini Case, Bodies) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Jojo Macari, Tom Hughes, Moe Hashim, Rupert Penry-Jones, Gabriella Pession, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Emilio Sakraya, David Wurawa, Dimitri Leonidas, Pepe Barroso, Eneko Sagardoy, Gonçalo Almeida and Romana Maggiora Vergano. The 10-part historical drama set in the corrupt world of the spectacle-driven gladiatorial competition and follows a group of characters from all corners of the Roman Empire who collide at the explosive intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties. Emmerich & Marco Kreuzpaintner are also executive producing the Centropolis Entertainment, Hollywood Gang and Street Entertainment production with Harald Kloser (2012, Midway), Gianni Nunnari (300, Immortals), Herbert G. Kloiber (The Name of the Rose), Martin Moszkowicz (Smilla’s Sense of Snow), Oliver Berben (Shadowhunters), Jonas Bauer (The Pillars of the Earth, World Without End), Stuart Ford (Plush, The Secrets We Keep), Lourdes Diaz (War of the Worlds), Charles Holland (Black Lightning), as well as Robert Rodat (Falling Skies) who also scripted the five Emmerich-directed episodes. Those About to Die will premiere in U.S. on July 18, 2024 on Peacock.
