Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Lisa Frankenstein, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Offer, Sex/Life, Call Jane) has been tapped to score the upcoming survival thriller Breathe. The film is directed by Stefon Bristol (See You Yesterday) and stars Jennifer Hudson, Milla Jovovich, Sam Worthington, Common and Quvenzhané Wallis. The movie is set in the near future, where Earth is left uninhabitable due to lack of oxygen and follows a mother who is forced to live underground with her daughter, with short trips to the surface only made possible by a state-of-the-art oxygen suit, when a mysterious couple arrives claiming to know her husband’s fate. Doug Simon (Demonic, Brotherhood) wrote the screenplay. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk (John Wick, Sicario), Erica Lee & Christian Mercuri (Silent Night, Kandahar) and David Haring (Fall, The Guilty) are producing the project. Breathe will be released in select theaters and on VOD on April 26, 2024.
Also coming up for Summers is the animated feature Hitpig.
