Jon Ekstrand (Morbius, Life, Easy Money, Child 44, All the Old Knives, Margrete – Queen of the North) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming sci-fi adventure Xeno. The film is written and directed by Matthew Loren Oates and stars Lulu Wilson, Omari Hardwick and Trae Romano. The movie revolves around a teenage girl who befriends a terrifying alien that crash-lands in the desert near her home and has to protect her dangerous new companion while also dealing with her depressed mother and her abusive boyfriend. Oates is also producing the project with Shana Marie, as well as Hartbeat’s Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley (Lift, Me Time) and Luke Kelly-Clyne (Die Hart, Cursed Friends). Xeno is expected to premiere later this year.
Ekstrand’s other recent projects include Daniel Espinosa’s Madame Luna, which just premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival this past weekend. He has also composed the music for Niclas Bendixen’s Danish/Swedish/Italian drama Rom, which will be released in Danish theaters on February 22.
