Anne Nikitin (American Animals, The Dropout, Fate: The Winx Saga, Mrs. Wilson, Dangerous Liaisons, Lost Girls, The Pale Horse) has recently scored the upcoming psychological thriller Mothers’ Instinct. The film marks the feature directorial debut of cinematographer Benoît Delhomme and stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Josh Charles and Anders Danielsen Lie. The movie follows two best friends and neighbors whose perfect lives in ‘60s suburbia are shattered by a tragic accident involving one of their children. Sarah Conradt wrote the screenplay. Hathaway & Chastain are also producing the project with Kelly Carmichael (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, George & Tammy), Paul Nelson and Jacques-Henri Bronckart (Nobody Has to Know, When It Melts). Mothers’ Instinct will open in theaters overseas in the coming months and is expected to be released in the U.S. by Neon later this year.
Nikitin’s other recent feature projects include Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s I.S.S., which premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and will be released in theaters nationwide next Friday, January 19. The composer has also recently co-scored the upcoming Netflix British limited series One Day with Jessica Jones & Tim Morrish. The drama, which is based on David Nicholls’s bestselling book and tells a love story that spans over twenty years, stars Ambika Mod, Leo Woodall, Essie Davis, Amber Grappy, Tim McInnerny, Jonny Weldon & Eleanor Tomlinson and will premiere on February 8, 2024 on Netflix.
