Labrinth (Euphoria, Malcolm & Marie) has collaborated with Alex Baranowski (True Things, The Windmere Children, Rain Dogs) on the score for the upcoming British Netflix original film The Kitchen. The movie is directed by Kibwe Tavares (Noughts + Crosses) & actor Daniel Kaluuya (in his feature directorial debut) and stars Kane Robinson, Hope Ikpoku Jr, Jedaiah Bannerman, Teija Kabs and Demmy Ladipo. The dystopian drama is set in London, 2044, in a future where all forms of social housing have been eradicated and the city’s working classes have been forced to live in temporary accommodation and follows a resident who is desperately trying to find a way out and 12-year-old boy who has lost his mother and is searching for a family. Kaluuya also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Murtagh (The Woman in the Wall). He is also producing the project with DMC Film’s Daniel Emmerson (Calm with Horses). The Kitchen just premiered today at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival and is set to debut in early 2024 on Netflix.
Labrinth is also expected to return to score the third season of HBO’s Euphoria.
