Makoché Records will release a soundtrack album for Ken Burns’ new documentary The American Buffalo. The album features selections of the music used in the film by artists such as Joseph Fire Crow, Bobby Horton, Lakota Thunder, Keith Bear, Randy Granger, Will Duncan, Skip Gorman and Robbie Robertson. The soundtrack will be released digitally this coming Monday, October 16 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is available to order on PBS’ webshop. The American Buffalo is executive produced and directed by Burns and and takes viewers on a journey through more than 10,000 years of North American history, tracing the animal’s evolution, significance to the Great Plains, relationship to the Indigenous People of North America and near demise. The 2-part/4-hour film will premiere on October 16 & 17 on PBS.
