Composer Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, Secret Invasion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Haunted Mansion, Dear White People) is reteaming with director Reinaldo Marcus Green on the upcoming biographical drama Bob Marley: One Love. The film stars Kingsley Ben-Adir in the title role, as well as Lashana Lynch, James Norton, Anthony Welsh, Tosin Cole, Umi Myers, Michael Gandolfini and Nadine Marshall. The movie chronicles Marley’s story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music. Robert Teitel (Barbershop, Men of Honor) is producing the project with Plan B Entertainment’s Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner & Dede Gardner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight), as well as Ziggy, Rita & Cedella Marley. Bowers has previously collaborated with Green on the features Monsters and Men and King Richard. Bob Marley: One Love will be released in theaters nationwide on February 14, 2023 by Paramount Pictures.

Bowers has also recently scored Blitz Bazawule’s The Color Purple, which will be released on December 25 by Warner Bros. Pictures and Ava DuVernay’s Origin, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and has been picked up by Neon for a release later this year. He is also expected to return to score the third and fourth season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
