Edizioni Curci has released a soundtrack album for the Italian period drama The Beautiful Summer (La bella estate). The album features the film’s original music composed by Francesco Cerasi (The Dinner, Golden Men, My Body Will Bury You, The Bad Guy). The Beautiful Summer is co-written and directed by Laura Luchetti and stars Yile Yara Vianello, Deva Cassel, Alessandro Piavani, Nicolas Maupas, Anna Bellato and Andrea Bosca. The movie based on Cesare Pavese’s novel of the same name is set in 1938 Turin and follows a hard-working young woman looking for an adventure who discovers the dazzling artists’ world and begins an affair with a painter. The drama premiered at this year’s Locarno Film Festival and just opened in Italian theaters this past Thursday. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
