William Ivory (Made in Dagenham, Burton and Taylor) wrote the screenplay. Robert Bernstein & Douglas Rae (Becoming Jane, Nowhere Boy) are producing the Ecosse Films production for Pathe, BBC Film and Ingenious Media. George Fenton was originally attached to score the project. The Great Escaper is set to be released in UK theaters on October 6, 2023. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
