Parlophone Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1979 documentary/concert film Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars directed by D.A. Pennebaker. The 50th Anniversary Edition features the newly remastered songs from David Bowie‘s last show as Ziggy Stardust, recorded in 1983 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, including the The Jean Genie/Love Me Do medley (feat. Jeff Beck) reinstated and Round and Round (also feat. Beck) making its very first appearance. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on August 11, 2023. Visit Amazon to pre-order the double vinyl edition and click here to order the 2-CD edition (included in the 50th Anniversary Blu-ray package). A new 4K restoration (overseen by Pennebacker’s son Fraser) of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars will be released in select U.S. theaters starting tomorrow, July 9.
